Job Posting: PGBSC Associate Coach (Part-Time)

About the Role

The Prince George Barracuda Swim Club is looking for an enthusiastic and committed Associate Coach to join our team for the remainder of the 2025–2026 season. In this role, you will help lead our pre-competitive groups as they develop the basic skills needed to eventually become competitive swimmers.

This is an excellent opportunity for a coach who wants to grow with us, with the possibility of returning for the next season.

Key Responsibilities

  • Teaching: Teach the basic skills of all four strokes to our Intro to Swim School, Swim School, D3, and D2C groups (ages 4-12).
  • Support: Provide feedback and encouragement to help swimmers improve.
  • Dryland Training: Lead dryland activities three times a week for the D1 and Elite groups (working alongside the Lead Coach).
  • Environment: Ensure every practice is a positive, safe experience for young athletes.
  • Communication: Talk effectively with swimmers, parents, and other coaching staff.
  • Attendance: Be available for all scheduled practices and swim meets.

Applicants must meet the requirements of either Option 1 or Option 2:

Fundamentals Coach —NCCP TRAINED

Swimming Teacher Certification

Compliance with SwimBC guidelines

Completed Safe Sport Training

Completed MED online evaluation

Completed MED online evaluation

Completed Safe Sport Training

Clear Criminal Record Check

Clear Criminal Record Check


*NCCP Certification would be an Asset*

Schedule & Wages

This is a part-time position with the following weekly schedule:

  • Monday & Friday: 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM
  • Tuesday & Thursday: 4:30 PM – 6:30 PM
  • Wednesday: 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM

Hourly Wage: $18.00 – $21.00 per hour

(Starting pay depends on your experience and certifications)
